The Republican Party is enabling white supremacy in our country. As a lifelong Republican, it pains me to say this, but it’s the truth.

I of course am not suggesting that all Republicans are white supremacists nor am I saying that the average Republican is even racist.

What I am saying though is that the Republican Party is COMPLICIT to obvious racist and immoral activity inside our party.

We have a Republican president who continually stokes racist fears in his base. He calls certain countries “sh*tholes,” tells women of color to “go back” to where they came from and lies more than he tells the truth.

We have Republican senators and representatives who look the other way and say nothing for fear that it will negatively affect their elections.

No more.

When the history books are written, I refuse to be someone who said nothing.

Wow! Trump does the same old "both sides" false equivalency BS he did about Charlottesville a few hours ago and Tom comes running here to parrot it. The Dayton shooter had a history of mental illness, didn't leave a manifesto, appears to have specifically targeted his sister and there is no evidence that he was a member of Antifa. He was also a raging misogynist which is counter to the views of Antifa.

Tom how about you ponder the fact that the DHS has been requesting domestic terrorism be more of a priority for the last year, but Trump told them to go pound sand because he was afraid combating domestic terrorism would offend his base. He also said after the shooting in New Zeland that he didn't think white nationalism was a threat.

Here is a great cartoon I found this morning that I think perfectly reflects Trump and Tom's views on domestic terrorism.

Perhaps Mark can point to an actual quote where President Trump "TOLD DHS TO GO POUND SAND BECAUSE HE WAS AFRAID COMBATTING DOMESTIC TERRORISM WOULD OFFEND HIS BASE"

This is incredible bullshit and another disgusting Trump smear. The vast majority of the millions of Americans who voted for Trump are not racists are not 'White Supremacists' are not Nazis....and neither is our President.

Perhaps Mark can put this whole threat of White Nationalist Domestic Terrorism into some kind of perspective. Like Compare the number of deaths this year to the current year Chicago Pace of 20,000 violent crimes and 500 murders. Or maybe Mark thinks those victims don't matter because they're Black.

But regardless of your your ability to understand objectively true information that might help shape conversations and reactions to preventable ways we die, blaming President Trump for a deranged and evil Mass Murder is just wrong. I understand your hate for our President has 'infested' your brain and you like so many others with TDS and can no longer assess reality...but maybe take a step back and start with the premise that President Trump is not a Racist and see where everything else falls then.

Yes, let's keep a proper perspective here. Why worry about conservative white male terrorists when more people die in a year because of medical errors than they do in one conservative terror attack? It is odd you didn't bring up the same argument when Trump was doing his Muslim ban?
