Trump immunity case: Supreme Court rules ex-presidents have substantial protection from prosecution

I guess MAGA is celebrating this as a win for them because they expect Trump to be President for the rest of his life?  Will Don Jr, Eric, Ivanka or Barron then succeed him? Will they change from MAGA to MAAM (Make America A Monarchy)? So many questions, and I hope MAGA has the answers.

The good news is if MAGA gets Trump installed for life, he won't need his people to work with foreign governments to help win an election, so that's nice.

Want to bet that there is no Trump effort to stay in office after 4 years, assuming that he wins?  The next thing you know, you'll tell us again how snappy Joe is.

I've never said Joe is snappy, so it's impossible for me to say it again. Sorry MAGA, I don't live in the box you think I do.

I don't bet on politics or sports, video poker is my primary game, I was using the monarchy angle as a "very clever"(yes, I am very clever) way to highlight the odd MAGA celebration on this ruling.

I know you are fascinated by Hunter and 17 shell companies, all Comer and Jordan need to do is refer the charges to the DOJ, have them bring a case against Hunter and the Big Guy, and put them in jail. Pretty straightforward, and you won't hear me complain at all. If they don't have the evidence to do that, create an official committee report and show how the Bidens did it and the evidence that they do have.

Ok, all done with that, what are your thoughts on the Trump campaign and Don Jr. meeting with the Russians to help them win the 2016 election? You're good with it?

There couldn't be any such effort, dolt, because he couldn't serve a third term. It's forbidden by this little ol' thingy called the Constitution. Ever heard of it?

Though I'm sure he's fantasizing about some way to circumvent all that and remain king until he croaks.

Are you referring to utilizing the obvious tactic that Obama has utilized since being out of office - first Hillary, now Biden ?

If I understand this correctly, Trump and all presidents have immunity from presidential executive decisions.  A president can't be sued for going to war, for example.  Presidents do not have unlimited immunity, however.  They can't murder someone and be off the hook.  That's a good and reasonable thing.

To be clear, past and current presidents are liable for actions taken before, during, and after their years in office.  For example, using 17 shell companies to launder money accumulated via a president and a son's illegals efforts to successfully sell goverment favors.

You guys will say that this is old news, but you said the same thing about Hunter Biden.  17 shell companies ain't there for nothing.

The beautiful part of the ruling is that judges get to decide what constitutes and "act of state" vs "an act of personal benefit".

Which one of those buckets is it when:

-Trump calls up a governor and asks him to find votes.

-Trump coordinates with states to send fake electors to the Capital

-Trump orders his VP to decertify the election

-Trump tweets out the address of election workers to his army of thugs

ANSWER:  it depends on what judge gets to decide. ANd I have a pretty good idea how Ginny Thomas' husband is going to weigh in..

Kings get to decide whether their own acts are within the boundaries of what they are allowed to do. Dictators decide that. Hitler decided that. Mao decided that. Now Trump gets to decide--retroactively.

Can you IMAGINE the conservitard outrage frenzy if Biden was charged with crimes and SCOTUS ruled that he was immune?

DDM should be very upset.  Where is your link to your information?  What about the $2 billion that Jared Kushner got from the Saudis?  It wasn't because of his outstanding investment experience.  It was a reward from Mohammed bin Salmon for his influence in making sure that Trump did nothing but state Saudi propaganda about the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.  Numerous investors who were approched by his Affinity Group were not impressed by their pitch and were shocked at "how cavalierly it seemed to suggest influence peddling."   We all know who Jared has a direct line to because of Ivanka.  I supply my link.    https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2022/04/jared-kushner-affinity-partners-saudi-arabia-pitch-deck

Just what does this have to do with the Supreme Court ruling?

Robert, Robert, Robert. Don't you rrealize that NOTHING is a crime if Trump, his family, or his lackeys do it? Whereas EVERYTHING is a crime if Biden, his family, and/or the Democrats do it?

Get used to a "flexible" system of justice and a two-tiered concept of what constitutes the truth.
