Trump Plans To Bailout Shale Oil Industry

The US oil industry will not be allowed to fail.  Period.  And thats a good thing.   Part of the motivation behind the current price war is specifically aimed at making US companies fail.   Likely some will.

The worst case scenario would be some kind of bailout the exact details of which I would not dare to speculate.   But oil is not just a consumer based industry like Coca-Cola.   Its a strategic, military asset.   And it will be protected - even if some kind of Socialist intervention is warranted.     Republican response to such an act will depend on the party of the president who enacts it.   See the auto and farm bailout for examples.

I agree with much what PJ argues, even while drinking in Brighton, MI.   No need to bail out any oil company.  There are a shit load of small drillers that will disapear, but it will all work out.

I agree 100%. We need to protect our oil sector so we dont need to depend on areas of the world that hate us. How that happens is anyones guess.

And wouldn't an effective way to address that problem be to decrease the number of countries that hate us, rather than breaking treaties and betraying alliances?

Come on, you know as well as I do that nothing is going to stop Iran and other like countries from hating us. Obamas appeasement plan didn't stop their funding of attacks against us and Trumps attempts at freindship with Russia is scorned. The best option is to not need any of them.

It stopped their nuclear program.   Which is something someone with a "rightdownthemiddle" perspective on basic historical facts can recognize.

Its a false choice to present isolationism vs bad diplomacy.     Maybe good diplomacy is an option.    Its happened before with administrations that had a clue about our place in the world.

You're conflating "not particularly friendly" with "hate." Relations with Iran, for example, were thawing until Trump dishonorably broke our treaty with them.

You want to be a chest-thumping conservative warhawk, you can call all attempts to improve poor diplomatic relations "appeasement."

Kissing the asses of terrorists is Kevin's definition of diplomacy. Standing by while they develop nucleur weapons is Kevin's stance, with his thumb up his ignorant ass. Obama should be in prison for the treaty he brokered with Iran. He is the biggest traitor our nation has ever had.

Stalker's meds start to wear off in the middle of the afternoon.

If you ignore all the terrorism that Iran supported and funded against United States and other countries, then yes our relationship had thawed.  That's ignoring plenty
