Trump plans to declare "national emergency" during midterms

I agree to that - Deal!

There are conditions. It doesn't count if Trump is dead or incapacitated. It DOES count if Trump tries to interfere in our elections even if he calls it something besides an "emergency"-just like he started a war with Iran but doesn't call it that.

Let's agree, also, that if he tries but fails, for instance issues an executive order but is thwarted by the courts, that counts.

It counts if he only tries to interfere in ONE state. It doesn't have to be nationwide.

It counts whether he uses an executive order or tries something else. That includes, for example, sending iCE agents to "monitor" an election or elections.

So I expect you to weasel now.

Stick to your original statement.  If he declares an emergency; you win, if he doesn't you lose

Tom, the emergency declaration wasn't the main part of the proposed plan that was originally described.

Kevin, with including sending ice agents to monitor I think you are casting too wide a net.

The proposed plan wasn't about interference generally it was a bit more specific than that.

To me the plan broke down into these scenarios. Whether done by emergency declaration, executive order, or some other means:

1) The attempt to cancel all votes in at least one district that were not cast in person.

2) The attempt to cancel all votes in at least one district if the voter did not need to show ID.

3) an attempt to seize ballots, voting machines, or any equipment related to voting or processing votes.

I think that if at least one of these are tried then we could say the plan was attempted.

The title of the thread is Trump to declare a national emergency during midterms

i called him out on it & he is weaseling.

Stck to the initial claim

Nope. That's not the title of the thread. You deliberately left out the word "plans." So in your initial response, "this" refers to the plan: what if the plan doesn't happen?

And I take that to mean that the plan is formed, not that it is executed. After all, there are several scenarios wherein Trump would form the plan but be unable to execute it, including his being dead by then. Another would be a court order preventing it.

So let's clarify. I'm saying that Trump is going to form a plan to declare a national emergency during the midterms. It's been suggested to him by many of his lackeys.

If Election Day comes and there is no indication of a plan, you win. If he forms a plan and attempts to execute it, I win--whether he succeeds or fails. If he's simply out of office/dead by then, no bet.

If you don't like this, then perhaps LiveFreeNW's proposal makes sense.
