Trump promises welfare checks for farmers

Farmers are broke so Trump wants to give them welfare checks

Good thing they are farmers.    Social workers, teachers, corporate Americans ....they dont get help with their college debt.    And why should they?   Why should everyone elses hard earned tax dollars go to people who cant manage their finances?    I think the FOX News crowd was clear about that point.   Gee Whiz !

But all the MAGA farmers who had so much vitriol for those college grads -  they get all the deadbeat, loser welfare checks their hypocritical hands can reach out for.

Aint America great?

Two points: this is the reason why farmers still support Trump even though he destroyed their export markets again. The first time, he bailed them out to the tune of some $25 billion ( I may be off, no time to verify).

Secondly, we've learned over the last several months that when MAGA rails against government spending, they mean spending on other people. They still want their government money.

So now my tax dollars go to farmers who voted for a guy who destroyed their businesses the first time, and now he's done it again. He's solely responsible.

So no other industry is ever, was ever, bailed out?

No other industry in US history has been deliberately destroyed by the actions of the President and then needed to be bailed out.

While various industries and entities have needed assistance at one time or another, the trouble they encountered was always something external, such as farmers being bailed out after a widespread natural disaster.

It has never been the case that the cause of an industry failure has been the policies of the ruling party. Until now.

Isn't one of MAGA's premier whine whine whines that GABILLIONS of taxpayer dollars are given to filthy, undeserving bums who just want to live off the gummint?

I can't think of a more fitting description of idiots who plant crops and then vote for a fuckhead who will make it impossible for them to harvest or sell them. And it's not like they should be surprised. Trump has been bleating about tariffs and deportations for years.

Of course other industires have been bailed out.

GM was bailed out in 2008.    And Famers were furious about that too.    THey called it "Government Motors".    Their tax dollars shouldnt be used to bail out union workers in Detroit.   Thats what North Korea does according to them.

Farmers are big believers in Laissez Faire economics for everyone except them.    It alot like when David Miller cries about people taking checks from the government.   Same thing.

Farmers are the biggest welfare queens in America.

To be fair, for the US to overproduce farm products has always been a central part of American policy. The idea is that we can easily withstand natural disasters, aid/trade with other countries, etc.

Unfortunately, that means that we often have food surpluses...and when prices drop like a rock, it's suddenly no fun to be a farmer. A major consequence of overcapacity is that the least capable producers aren't weeded out. So if you're a lousy farmer, you might need the more than occasional bailout.

Which is fine. It's deliberate policy that we have a bunch of yeoman farmers rather than agribusiness everywhere. But it's inefficient. It's as if the auto industry was one car at a time being built in people's garages.

But as you say, they shouldn't whine about other people getting bailouts. They're only able to be farmers because if they fuck up, the gummint will throw them money.

No, I didn't mean to imply that in any way.  I was pointing out that Trump did this in his first term, and it was directly caused by his tariffs. Then did it again in his second term, and the farmers still support him. My conclusion is that they're fine with it as long as they get their welfare. They seem to be against any help to other people who are, well, lyin' libs.

Not to imply that farmers have functioning intellects and can think ahead, but planting a crop that you know you won't be able to sell, knowing that the government will send you a fat check if you whine about it, might actually be a viable business strategy. After all, you normally have to plant, harvest, and sell your crop; this way, it's just plant, let it rot, and whine. Much easier!

It could all be just another grab money from the blue states stuff it into the pockets of red states plan.
