Trump promises welfare checks for farmers

As of late September 2025, President Donald Trump has said he will give tariff revenue to farmers to help them manage the financial fallout from recent trade disputes. Trump acknowledged that his administration's tariffs could hurt farmers temporarily and that the payments would serve as an interim solution. -- Source of funds: Trump stated that surplus tariff money would be used to help struggling American farmers. Reason for aid: The payments are intended to support farmers who are negatively impacted by the administration's trade wars, particularly tariffs that have led to retaliatory measures by other countries. Timeline and details: Specific details about the amount, timing, and eligibility requirements for the payments have not yet been announced. However, some reports indicate that farmers may need to wait until 2026 to receive the aid, which could require congressional approval.

The issue has been resolved - and you are still bitching. In the real world, everything needed to be done is not resolved by snapping one's fingers. Of course with you being a moronic TDS infected liberal, you are not able to comprehend that fact. The President has been extremely busy rectifying the damage the DemocRATs have done to America the past 4 years. He is fulfilling the promises he made to Americans, one by one. That takes time, especially when you factor in the fact that DemocRATs obstruct him at every opportunity. Remove all DemocRATs and America will be made great again at record speed.

So Kevin , as an advantage play why do you not have solar at your house.  I mean if it is so great, what is holding you back all these years.  Surely you could use  the extra 220 bucks a month for doing nothing.

When did I say that I either did or didn't? And either way, what would that have to do with the overall value/utility of solar?

You are always about value, just wondering what has been keeping you from pulling the trigger.  Not a gotcha question.  I can understand if you are renting.

What about everyone else that is negatively affected by the tariffs? As in pretty much everyone in the country.  Fuck them I guess. Economists figured out in the 30s that excessive tariffs are bad economic policy. But the keynesians never learn.

I really shouldn't answer your question, as it's gratuitous, a disguised insult, and utterly irrelevant to what I was saying. But I will.

However, I should educate you that a person can be in favor of something without using or being affected in any way by it.

I also am reluctant to provide details of my residence, since a number of trolls, including David Miller, have used my personal info to flood my inbox with spam. That said:

I live in a heavily forested community, with thousands of trees that are several stories high. Solar would still work, but not nearly as well as in open areas. But aside from that:

Washington State and northern Oregon are primarily powered by hydroelectricity from the huge Grand Coulee, Bonneville, and other dams on the Columbia. That river drains half a continent. We have abundant power at very low rates. Thus, installing solar wouldn't be as cost-effective as it would be where power is generated by burning fossil fuels.

My power bill is so low, it would take me over ten years to amortize the cost of a solar array. And I probably will be moving to a smaller place within five years.

That is not to say that Oregon lacks solar arrays. East of the Cascades, there's a lot of open, sparely populated land.
