Trump Said His Cutoff For Dating Was 12

I appreciate your viewpoint, Kevin.  You don't have to bother with all that 'church' stuff.

Me, I'm not chancing it!   JMHO.

Rules to live by aren't a bad thing.  I've broken many, but I keep trying.

Well, there's the "I'm a good person because it's the right thing to do" viewpoint, then there's the "I'm a good person because I don't want to spend eternity in Cleveland after I die" viewpoint. How many people, I wonder, would do good even if the various religions taught that it didn't matter either way as far as the afterlife was concerned--or if they taught that there IS no afterlife (note that NO religion does that)?

OR...suppose the world's religions taught that you would go to Hell/Cleveland for doing good? How many people would say, OK, but I'm going to do good anyway?

Five? Six?

I have always thought about it that way too.

It is tough being non religious because you can't dismiss suffering as god's will and you can't blame your personal failures on being tempted by the devil. I think a lot of folks go to church because they think it gives them a free pass to continue to do bad deeds.

The next thing you know you'll tell us that Trump colluded with Russia and that Hunter's laptop was Russian disinformation.  By the way you nutjobs, you might want to Google Obama's team interaction with Russia before he became president.  You guys prove that TDS is real each day.  Keep it up...even the wishy washy independents are finally figuring you out.

Hey, Boiler what do you think Trump and Epstein were doing with those underage girls in Atlantic City?

Yes! The enduring Christian doctrine is that no matter what horrible things you may have done, go to the confessional and all will be forgiven (and not punished).

The fear was always that you would die "unshriven," or without your recent sins confessed and forgiven. One of the most famous Gregorian chants from the late medieval period is "Timor mortis conturbat me," which means "The fear of death disturbs me." You go out and commit sins on Saturday night but get run over by an ox cart before you can get to church on Sunday to confess, you're SOL.

Which is a major reason why the Catholic Church has more income than most of the world's major corporations.

They used to sell sin passes or what at the time was called buying an indulgence. So back in the day if you were a good catholic family man but you wanted something on the side all you had to do is buy an indulgence from the church. Then and you could bang your side chick as much as you want with god's pre-approval.
