And if power plants are destroyed, how do civilians go about their daily lives? Houses need climate control. Food needs refrigeration. Loss of power means loss of phones, internet, finances, etc. etc.......
I would add that no power plants means no desalination plants which means almost no fresh water.
Trump agreeing to a cease-fire is a terrible mistake.

What exactly do you think is meant by "a civilization will die"?
Trump didn't say regime, government, terror network, ideology, or system etc. would die. The word he used was "civilization".
A civilization is its people.
Just how does a civilization comprised of millions of people die without it resulting in the death of millions of people?
The Iranian government has killed thousands of its own people and that is horrible. Trump is threatening to outdo that by killing millions. How does that benefit Iran or anyone else?
How does America benefit by sacrificing blood and treasure for Israel's war?
Update - President Trump's ultimatim worked -- 
The cease fire is an adminission that Iran controls the strait. Iran has to agree to opening the strait because Trump cant take it by force. Something he underestimated before his little war game.
The only options at this point are
(A) Put troops on the ground and have another trillion dolllar occupation in the Middle East
(B) GIve Iran's new radical regime a bone
One thing for sure - Iran is putting their drone manufacturing program on steroids right now.
