The Trump Tax numbers are starting to come into focus

So Ford is admitting EVs are a limited market and focusing on the more practical hybrid (I own a hybrid) market.

No, the article says the opposite. It doesn't mention hybrids at all.

Very odd response.

It is only limited because of the type of EVs they built. People that are willing to pay 80k+ for an EV is a very limited market.  Build the type of EVs like the Chinese do and it is an unlimited market. Keep in mind the Chinese are willing to produce cars with a $500 profit margin whereas domestic manufacturers are not.

GM learned a valuable lesson. They got rid of the Bolt and decided to go luxury and performance with their EVs Cadillacs, full size trucks and SUVs. When that predictably failed. They brought back the Bolt and introduced an EV equinox that started at around 30k before Trump's tariffs and 35k after them. The equinox is currently the best selling EV in America or it was the last time I checked.

I am currently thinking about a hybrid Prius.

BTW Ford sells a ton of hybrids, Mavericks, and in fact they can't make enough engines to satisfy demand.

We surrendered the EV industry to China.     They're very fortunate to be able to make decisions about the future without a caucus of dipshits obstructing them on the premise of "cant run no car off no windmill"

They dont want an economy that is subjected to the geo-political risks that come with running everything off fossil fuels.

We'll get their eventually but we'll be a step behind China for a very long time.   Who would by a gas combustion vehicle if you could get an EV vehicle for the same price that gets 400 mi/charge ?     You can do that in China right now.     Our resident technology experts told us that would never be possible.    They're a smart bunch, arent they?

Well, yeah !  In our market.

THeir ceo went to China and shit his pants because their EV vehicles were superior in every regard and able to be manufactured cheaply.    That came with investment from their government.  Thats what happens when you invest in technology.

Too bad our country has been stuck in the mud because Tom and his leadership dont understand this concept.

MAGA views the 1950s as America's golden age. That's why they've striven to keep us there,  technologically, politically, and socially. None of that civil rights nonsense. Wimmenfolk barefoot and in the kitchen, where they belong. Big Stick diplomacy. AMURRICA thumping its chest and telling the world what to do.

Except ..the world ain't listening.

We're no longer a First World nation. We're a technological and social backwater. No one wants to visit us or trade with us.

Thanks, Turd!

Max brags about EVs but is buying a hybrid

It takes 50lbs of rock for 1lb of lithium. Most cars have 20lbs of lithium. So you need to move 1/2 ton of rocke per car.

Not great for the environment & chins controls the rare earths market.

Now the usual suspects think cars & power plants use all the fossil fuels but over 6,000 products use fossil fuels fuels.

Fossil fuels aren't going anywhere.

They are already obsolete. Just like MAGA. Just like you.

You have to move a lot of earth/rock to harvest fossil fuels.

Far from obsolete, 6000+ products use fossil fuels

You don't understand. Petroleum products are and will continue to be used in various types of chemical and industrial applications. But fossil FUELS are obsolete, because there are cheaper, easier, and cleaner ways to generate energy than digging fossil fuels out of the ground and burning them.
