The conservatives and their cost cutting leader are proposing a 4.75 trillion dollar budget for the upcoming year. To put that in context the final budget of the Obama Administration was 3.96 trillion. So while the Fox News Crowd cried about big spending liberals throughout the previous administration (and continue to do so now) the leadership they support is proposing we spend 17% more (even as they have cut tax revenues to reconcile it).
This is not an anomaly. Every Republican Administration over the last 40 years has run on the same cost-cutting platform only to spend more money than the tax-and-spend liberals that preceded them. But just like terrorists in New Zealand this fact will be shrugged off while the attention will be placed on something more appealing to their ideological views.
But I'm posting this anyway just as a public service.
