Trump Wants To Reopen The Country And Send Infected Folks To Work.

As if you needed more proof Trump is incompetent and incapable of handling this crisis. 

President Trump is weighing calls from some Republican lawmakers and White House advisers to scale back steps to contain the coronavirus despite the advice of federal health officials as a growing number of conservatives argue that the impact on the economy has become too severe, according to several people with knowledge of the internal deliberations.

Loosening restrictions on social distancing would override the internal warnings of senior U.S. health officials, including Anthony S. Fauci, who have said that the United States has not yet felt the worst of the pandemic.

“WE CANNOT LET THE CURE BE WORSE THAN THE PROBLEM ITSELF,” Trump said in a tweet late Sunday. “AT THE END OF THE 15 DAY PERIOD, WE WILL MAKE A DECISION AS TO WHICH WAY WE WANT TO GO!”

You fix the health crisis and then the economy.  You can't repair the economy until the health crisis is over. One infected person returning to work can make everybody in the workplace sick.  

I was going to read the link - til it went to the Washington Post. That rag I will never read or believe. I now know where you get your info.

It merely reports what Trump said. You shouldn't avoid reading something just because you're not going to like it.

I read it, because I wanted to see where Mark finds that Trump "wants to...send infected folks to work."

What I read was the suggestion of letting PEOPLE start going back to work.  In certain situations.  Not sick people, not infected people.   Someone please point me to "send infected folks to work."

The good news is that the Republicans finally have a plan for dealing with the virus. The bad news for Candy and David is that it requires them to be the sacrificial lambs.

But I don't want to put words in anybody's mouth. I suggest David and Candy watch the video, so they can judge for themselves. Tom will be thrilled. He has been a proponent of euthanasia for a long time. 

Candy and David can I get an affirmation that you are both all-in with this plan?

What President Idiot probably meant was people who have been tested, don't have the coronavirus, and can't contract or transmit it, ever ever ever.

The only flaw in that plan is, there are no such people.

Me here: I watched the video.  Still didn't hear "send infected people back to work" as was in the title of this thread.  (I learned that one can't edit a "New Topic").  That's all.  Didn't hear that catastrophic language that was supposedly uttered by...somebody.

Strangely, I could agree with Kevin's presumption about what the President had in mind.  (Except for the never never never part). 

Typical of Trump, an example of 'loose cannon', to put it nicely. 

I worked with and around a few loose cannons in my career.  Some were basically good people, good workers, etc., except that they were "loose" with their mouths, mostly to be the first bearer of questionable news as soon as they heard some, or thought they heard some, attention grabbers.  Often it didn't matter, but their cannonballs could and occasionally did create problems for people.
