Trump failed.
He will say any stupid thing he can think of rather than admit that. His expert hate rally staff got punked. He got humiliated. And we found out that there aren't all that many Trumpers willing to risk death to see their hero.
This came as a surprise to me. I thought there would be massive crowds. I knew that nothing of substance was going to be said by Trump or his lackeys, but still, I expected that Trumpers would be anxious to have the MAGA experience once more.
Instead, only a few people showed up, and they got treated to nuggets of priceless wisdom such as that we should cut back on coronavirus testing in order to reduce the number of reported cases. Brilliant! And they cheered. They cheered!
Oh dear, it looks like the ticket request page failed to screen for those under 18, a violation of an incredibly well-known law.
Yeah, this is the team I want fighting the pandemic!

That might be true--Trump's tiny, tiny crowd would still be larger than the number of Biden supporters who would congregate in the midst of a pandemic. It looks like very few people, even TRUMPERS, are that stupid.

Okay, I'll explain. President Trump was humiliated because he and his campaign predicted a huge turnout, and they even had an outdoor stage set up for the overflow crowd. Instead, they had an underflow crowd. Moreover, Trump has made the size of his crowds a very big deal, and it was great to see him deflated.
Obviously, to anyone who has paid attention to politics, the size of crowds is a terrible metric for predicting election results. Otherwise, we would have had a President Howard Dean, and Nixon's Rose Garden strategy never would have worked.
But live by the big crowd, die by the big crowd. That's what just happened. And it made me happy.
