Is that to keep people out or to trap us inside? Meanwhile the guy that says he wants secure borders is refusing to pay members of the Border Patrol and Coast Gaurd.

Our little boy in charge is mad becaues nobody wants to play with him.Maybe he will take his ball and go home.If only.
I have seen past video clips of Obeyme, Slick Willie, Hillary, Schumer and others citing the need for a wall and enforcement of current immigration laws , and now that President Trump is doing what these others stated that needed to be done for America I see/read the ignorant comments posted by Mark, Robert and others. Apparently following thru on campaign promises are to difficult for these crybaby liberals to comprehend. I am so thankful for there being a real Man in the White House doing what intelligent Americans elected him to do for our nation.
I am no psychologist, but isn't it funny how humans cry and carry on about certain issues, e.g. immigration/border wall etc., i.e. "Need to keep those xxxx'ns out of our country", but when legitimate discussion and proposals are made, they get all boo hooey on us.
Mark, I think you mischaracterize decisions regarding pay for certain government employees during this (and every) government shutdown. I wouldn't call it "refusing to pay." I went through at least two of these in my career, and I don't take the whole idea lightly. It is unsettling at best, but in the end everyone will get paid, retroactively if not on time. Fed employee pay occurs every two weeks. I don't know whether THIS pay period ends tomorrow, 12/29/18 or next Saturday, 1/5/19. If it ends next Saturday 1/5/19 most people will be paid on time if normal operations are restored, and I certainly hope so. My guess is that this factored into the shutdown decision, since in the end the impact on workers would be minimal. The timekeepers are hit the hardest when/if they have to process timecards for back pay. JMHO.
Mark, no witty left wing tripe about the murder of Officer Singh? Gotta be a rough fit into your dumocrat narrative.

Golly, for years here at LVA and on cable TV all I have heard from conservatives are that Hillary, Obama, Schumer, and other Democrats are for "open borders." Now you are telling me all those years when conservatives said Democrats were for open borders they were lying as Democrats were really build the wall folks? Get your lies straight so you at least make sense.
Doc said, "Apparently following thru on campaign promises are to difficult for these crybaby liberals to comprehend."
Having taxpayers pay for a wall that Trump publically promised hundreds of times to have Mexico pay for is not keeping a campaign promise. Doc, even if you were to concede that Trump lied hundreds of times about having Mexico pay for it, he had two years of Republican control to force the taxpayers to pay for it. He failed miserably. Now he wants the Democrats to bail him out. Doc, that isn't how elections work. Republican's got their asses kicked and now it is time for them to eat crow not make demands that Democrats help them cover up their incompetence.

This will likely be the longest shutdown. People that don't get paid for a month but still have the expense of going to work every day aren't going to be very enthusiastic employees if they show up at all. These employees at Homeland Security, the Border Patrol and the Coast Gaurd protect our borders. The border is now less secure. And as Trump himself said on national TV, he is responsible and it was his choice. Did you read those sample letters Trump put out for government employees to send their creditors? Talk about clueless. I loved the one suggesting government employees offer to do chores for their landlord in lieu of paying rent.
The ONLY ones who need to get "their lies straight" are the Democrats. First they said that open borders were wrong, now thay say the opposite. Mark, get some 2nd grader to explain the difference to you. If the Democrats had been on board for wall funding, the funds would be there. In 2013, it costs $113 BILLION of tax payer money for the 12.5 MILLION illegal immigrants living here in the U.S.- for ONE year. Building a 5 Billion dollar wall seems to be cost effective when compared to funding these illegals. Get a 4th grader to explain the math to you. President Trump is doing what has to be done to get the worthless Democrats to do what they were elected for.

Candy, the last pay period ended 12/22. All govt employees will receive/have received paychecks since the shutdown didn't occur until midnight 12/22. Most don't work weekends, and most wouldn't have been working 12/24 or 12/25 even without the shutdown.
And Mark, "Trumpenfuhrer"? Your implication that Trump is like Hitler is nothing more than you further expressing hatred. I guess that's just what you do, no matter that it destroys any credibility you might have had in the past.
