Trumpism is a religion

I have no issues with Mexicans.  In fact, invited one to stay at my home and attend this May's Indy 500.  I do have an issue with illegals.  Kevin can't grasp the concept.  Kevin doesn't pay for the poor illegal's subsides, yet demands that others do.

Since I pay taxes, I do indeed pay for their "subsidies" (a wildly inaccurate term, but I'll go with it).

However, most illegals work, and pay taxes---and they will never see many of the benefits of those taxes. So they pay into the system without withdrawing from it!

If poor people--illegals, Americans, space aliens from the planet Dweemo--need food and shelter, I'm willing to have my taxes pay for that. I'd rather do that than see them starve or freeze. Again, common decency and simple compassion, a basic human value that conservatives lack.

I'm sure that my actual tax contributions that go in that direction are about four bucks a year, so I'm not going to work myself into an outraged lather about it. I'm much more concerned about the $300 that Trump's wall is going to cost me, personally, this year alone.

If you want to do some research, look up how much money illegals pay into the social security system (from which they will never benefit). You might be surprised. That's your homework assignment.

I'm sure that my portion of taxes that go there is $15,000-$20,000.  Since it's only $4 for you, I can see why it doesn't bother you.

Well, you may be "sure" of that, but that doesn't mean it's remotely accurate. I know it makes you feel good to say that those hordes of illegals are sucking your wallet dry. You won't let go of that, because hatred and a lack of compassion are such fundamental elements of your self-image.

You are correct.  I pay far more than $15,000-$20,000 to the poor annually.  And your choice of a life path has enabled you to pay $4 to the poor.  I'm somehow that bad guy in Kevin's mind.

You can lie about that all you want, but the amount you pay in taxes that goes directly to such programs is very small. Youe estimate is wildly inflated.

Since 70% goes to free shit, I pay closer to $35,000 in free shit.  Kevin pays $4 for free shit, and complains that I'm the bad guy.

What I said was that the amount of taxes I pay that go directly into entitlement programs (as opposed to those that are separately funded, such as Medicare, Social Security, SNAP, etc.) is very small.

Obviously, that amount is very small for everyone, including you. I don't have any particular tax exemptions. I pay several thousand dollars a year in federal taxes. Very little of it goes to otherwise unfunded entitlement programs. Look it up.

To give you a sense of proportion, both you and I will pay this year about 15 times as much for Trump's wall as we do for entitlement programs.

Again, keep in mind that most such programs are NOT funded by federal income tax revenues--they are funded by payroll deductions and other taxation sources. And you and I are eligible for those programs should we need them, so we're getting something for our money.

Your whining about entitlements is like someone who pays for fire insurance and then says that he should get a refund because his house didn't burn down--and that the guy down the block whose house burned down and he collected on his insurance is a no-good freeloader.
