Trump's Latest Demonstration Of Incompentce Handling COVID-19

This was the scene at ORD yesterday. 

CHICAGO — Airports nationwide were thrown into chaos this weekend as workers scrambled to roll out the Trump administration’s hastily arranged health screenings for travelers returning from Europe.

“Last night we saw [passenger] safety and security was seriously compromised and people were forced into conditions that are against CDC guidelines and totally unacceptable,” Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said Sunday during a news conference at the city’s O’Hare International Airport.

Crowds like this were the norm at all the International airports yesterday. Trump announced the policy with no ramp-up nor was there any increased staffing to handle the bottlenecks. I wonder how many people got exposed?

Just because a NEW policy is put into place DOES NOT mean it will be implemented immediately. Meanwhile the liberal instant gratification generation start's crying and bitching, as we see here.

This one was implemented immediately. Nobody in the Trump administration thought about the nuts and bolts of how to go about deploying it. 

Right now we should be ramping down commercial domestic air travel rather than announcing it at the last minute after the shit has already hit the fan. 

It is all of those people that had to wait 5+ hours shoulder to shoulder that will be hurting. There is no way to justify Trump forcing all those people to crowd together.

Nobody FORCED anybody to do anything - this happened because decisions are being made on the fly in order to stem the transfer of the virus.  People will be inconvenienced at times.  You bitch about EVERY step taken to deal with this situation. Things such as this are happening all over the world. Most people would/should be glad that they are alive and not in China or Italy or any of the other countries dealing with much worse conditions.

Yes, he did. While it is ok to make some decisions quickly during a disaster, the calculation should be will this decision make things better? 

That very basic question wasn't asked. 

Maybe if Trump hadn't spent months calling it fake news and a hoax, he wouldn't have to make so many decisions on the fly? He could have planned things out in advance.

A large part of the problem is that there are still Trump stooges like David Miller who will defend Trump no matter what stupid things he does and due to their inherently nasty nature, will scream and attack anyone who criticizes him. It's time for people like him to shut up. He can start screaming and insulting people again when this crisis is over.

Devin Nunes just encouraged people to go out to restaurants and not worry. Some other stooge from Oklahoma said the same thing. This is the point where Trump-love crosses the line from irresponsibility to criminality.

Trump is botching this crisis, and people will die, and maybe it's time for even the most rabid Trumpers to put down the pom-poms already. The mess at O'Hare was completely avoidable--if, y'know, PLANNING had been done. Trump, though, among his many, many, many other failings, has poor impulse control and virtually no concept of planning.

Trump was too busy telling us that the virus was "contained, " "under control," "at 14 cases going to zero," would " miraculously disappear," to actually plan for the arrival of a pandemic.  Now that Trump has gotten off his dead ass, still the Trumpettes like Nunez and Stitt believe it is a Democratic hoax--criminal ignorance.  And you idiots who continually support him and them are equally criminally ignorant.
