Stalker shows his ignorance of history. Britian was unprepared for war in 1938, and Chamberlain knew it. Declaring war on Germany (i.e., being a Trump-style "tough guy") then would have been disastrous, as Germany was far more militarized than Britain. Britain had a very small standing army in contrast to that of Germany (and Italy).
Chamberlain did issue a guarantee to the Poles and declared war when Germany invaded. Britain had been in the process of a crash rearmament program at that time. The country was far better prepared for war in 1939 than in 1938. But of course, Tough Guy Trump would have declared war immediately in 1938, and then probably sent an invasion force to get slaughtered.
Turning purple and shaking your fist is usually a dumb strategy. Planning and strategizing is the better approach. You only fight wars when you have to, and you choose the time and place. Any decent leader should consider war to be a last resort and prefer diplomacy.
Of course, the bullies and tough guys will all say that the leader who chooses diplomacy is a coward. Stalker may not know, due to his lack of a high school education, that the British had lost millions of young men just a generation ago because its leaders leapt into war with enthusiasm. I think that Chamberlain can be forgiven for not wanting that to happen again and seeking an alternative. His decision was very popular with the British public, and may not have been wrong at all, even though popular history brands him as an "appeaser."
