The truth on homelessness

When I am working in Phoenix there is a strip mall on Grand ave & 107th ave that has a Fry's. It has a huge help wanted sign hanging from the top of the building.

On any given day there are a half dozen homeless on the corners and in the parking lots looking for money.

Apparently they can't read to well.

And do you truly, honestly think that those people could just waltz in and get a job...without references, without an address to send documents, without proper clothing for an interview?

Many of the extremely dumb things you say here make me suspect that you've never held a job.

Have you?

The opinion of some bitter old asshole. He offers NO proof for his insane numbers.

Yet, Boilerboob believes him, whole cloth. Why? Because it sounds good to him. LOL! 😅

It is an opinion piece not factual reporting.

Drug addiciton, PTSD, mental illness and other disabilities arent readily cured by some magic pill.   And employers typically are reluctant to hire such people .... nevermind the ones who have criminal records.

What do conservatives think happens to those people if you cut off funding for their shelters, food, and medicine ?  I opine those people turn to crime in order to make ends meet.   But MAGA seems to think they'll just get a job delivering pizzas or something.

It's an opinion piece with no hard data to back any of the claims he makes; he seems to believe a religious solution is best for everyone.

I'm not sure what he means by "Make your city enforce the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution "; which part of the 14th? Birthright citizenship, equal protection, due process, apportionment of Representatives, disqualification from office, and/or public debt?

Then he finishes with his solution, which is to harass homeless people so they leave your area, "Quicker than you’d imagine, most of these vagrants-by-vhoicr would choose to pack-up and move to other more liberal cities that were still willing to tolerate their abuse. And that’s ok; because your community would not only be free of this scourge, but would also be a role model for other cities."" The quote reads to me like the classic MAGA own the libs thinking, which has always been a bit childish.

It certainly reads like an opinion piece targeted to individuals looking to have their beliefs reaffirmed, but not challenged, they're the kind of people who prefer not to think deeply. They believe there is an easy solution to large problems, and they are the ones who know the "truth". These types of people tend to claim "the truth" as only what they want to believe, and dismiss anyone who disagrees.

Maybe they're smarter than you and they've done the math, or lived the math.

In a just world, every one of the asshole individuals who rail against and demonize the homeless would be stripped of everything they have and forced to live on the streets. That includes the asshole who wrote this evil little screed, Boilerboob, and stupid Tom.
