Tucker says the role he played in getting Trump elected will torment him for a long time

Tucker Carlson issued an apology for the role he played in getting Donald Trump elected, sharing he’ll be “tormented by it for a long time.”

The conservative commentator shared the surprising mea culpa during Monday’s episode of “The Tucker Carlson Show,” where discussed the state of the country under Trump’s second term with his brother, Buckley Carlson.

“I mean, you and I and everyone else who supported him, you wrote speeches for him, I campaigned for him, I mean, we’re implicated in this for sure,” Carlson said to his brother. “It’s not enough to say, ‘Well, I changed my mind.’ Or like, ‘Oh, this is bad. I’m out.'”

So, I do think it’s like a moment to wrestle with our own consciences,” he added. “We’ll be tormented by it for a long time — I will be. And I want to say I’m sorry for misleading people, it was not intentional. That’s all I’ll say.”

TC owned it like a man!

To bad David Miller, Aaron, Boiler and Tom seem to be lacking the same moral

courage. The Trump Presidency has been an epic failure. Why is that so hard to admit? They even have Tucker, MTG, Alex Jones and Candace Owen's leading the way for them.

Interesting to see Mother Tucker turn into an apostate and put on the hair shirt. But he weaseled. "It wasn't intentional." My ASS, it wasn't! He saw Trump's rising star and decided to hitch his wagon to it. Before he seized that opportunity, he was just a small-time rabid conservative babbler. He's made tens of millions being Trump's Joseph Goebbels.

For the last ten years, he's lied out his ass for the Turd, heartily and slavishly endorsing every single thing the Turd has done and said. He's also heaped scorn and invective on anyone who has dared to challenge the policies and behavior of Dear Leader. The people who talked about Trump then the way he's talking about him now--those people were all left-wing radical liberal liberal radical and suffered from TDS TDS TDS.

So gee, have the scales really fallen from his eyes? Or is he just a rat leaving the sinking ship?

I wonder if Millerpig, stupid Tom, and Boilerboob will go down with that ship.

I'll believe it when he moves from Fox Nooze to MSNBC.

Kevin, I'm going to reference the late Rush Limbaugh. I can't say I listened to his radio show a lot over the years but I tuned in from time to time to see what Conservatives were thinking.

One of his favorite colloquialisms that he used to frequently repeat was, "success has many fathers while failure is always an orphan."

I think that applies here. Conservative influencers are cutting bait on Trump because they can see the writing on the wall. It is too bad our resident MAGAs can't see that same writing on the wall.

I think that they do see it. Miller remains a slavish, drooling Trumper because that's the persona he's adopted in order to start arguments. Ditto Boiler. Tom wants to show solidarity with all the other nasty old MAGA fucks in his new hometown of Desert Shithole, but he's homesick for the Big Apple. So he constantly shits on it to make himself feel better.

Limbaugh was a showman and likely didn't believe a word of what he was barfing...but it sold. For years and years, in fact. So I don't think he was reporting what conservatives were thinking so much as telling them what to think. Ditto Carlson.

Remember, conservatives believe in authority and authoritarianism. They don't want to think; they want to be told what to think.

Technically it would be back to MSNBC.

IIRC before going to FoxNews Tucker basically played the centrist voice on MSNBC.

Well, then, he really did take a sharp right turn. More proof that he just goes where the wind blows.

I would have more respect for a conservative commentator who stakes out a position and sticks to it, through thick and thin. That position may be horsecrap, but at least it's genuine horsecrap.

We all knew--or should have known--that Donald Trump was an erratic, impetuous, reckless, loose canon who should never have been handed the power over the US military might.  The shame is on anyone who voted for electing a madman to the office, even if they recognize it after.
