The Turd increases healthcare costs

Everybody pays taxes of one kind or another. Even you, pervert.

's far cheaper to offer free medical care

Another kevin lie. There is no such thing as free medical care

Another kevin lie

these premium/copay increases aren't due to increased costs of care. They're a completely artificial adjustment compelled by MAGA's crusade to reduce taxes on corporations and the wealthy

Now for the facts.

2024 Profit Margin Decline: The health insurance industry experienced a notable decline in profitability, with net earnings dropping from $25 billion in 2023 to just $9 billion in 2024. This resulted in a profit margin decrease from 2.2% to 0.8%.

Q4 2024 Average Profit Margin: The unweighted average profit margin for major health insurers was reported at 1.5% in Q4 2024, reflecting a decrease from previous quarters. This decline was attributed to increased medical costs and higher loss ratios.

Historical Context: Historically, the profit margins for health insurers have varied, with a reported margin of 3.3% through the second quarter of 2023, showing a modest decrease from 3.4% in the same period in 2021

Quarterly Data: As of September 2024, the profit margin for U.S. health insurance was recorded at 1.9%, down from 2.7% in June 2024, indicating ongoing challenges in maintaining profitability.

And of course the kevin lie that the wealthy don't pay taxes.

From Smart Asset

The top 1% of earners across the U.S. earn an average of 19.5% of all income – but pay 37% of total income taxes

In 2022, the top 5% of earners — people with incomes $261,591 and above — collectively paid over $1.3 trillion in income taxes, or about 61% of the national total.

The top 10% of earners in the U.S. (those making at least $178,611) collectively paid over $1.5 trillion in income taxes, which accounts for about 72% of the total income taxes paid.

There is such a thing as free medical care. And free police protection. And free public libraries. And free elementary and high schools. Et cetera.

Stupid Tom misinterprets this basic concept to mean that it doesn't cost anything. That's stupid, even for Tom. "Free" means free to the recipients. It doesn't mean "costs nothing."

God, Tom is an idiot.

And where will the money for Kevin's free medical care come from?

The same place it comes from in all the civilized nations that have universal health care: tax revenues.

You fucking idiot.

You want specifics? Restore the corporate/fat cat income tax rate to what it was pre-Trump. That alone would pay for universal government-funded health care.

I don't know why the idea of universal 'free" health care disturbs you so much. Almost every modern industrialized nation on Earth has it. We don't have it, so we spend twice as much on health care as everyone else.

Are you saying that we're smart and every other nation is stupid?

Stupid Tom.

You did receive a benefit - that was wiped out by Medicare. Without the "small cost of living Social Security stipend" you  received, you would have had to pay for the Medicare raise in cost from another source. The COLA you received did it's job - it covered the raise in cost of your Medicare.

No gain, no loss is the idea. A COLA adjustment is meant to make your benefits in the current year functionally equivalent to those you received last year. A SS adjustment and Medicare adjustment use the same consumer price index calculations, but they're independent of one another.

Restore the corporate/fat cat income tax rate

The estimated cost of this program would be $3T annually.  Those kevin tax cuts were far less than $3T

I already showed how much the top tier pays in taxes.in the US

In Europe everyone pays taxes not the near zero rate people pay here.

The income tax rate for the bottom 50% of earners in the U.S. is approximately 3.7%. This rate reflects the average effective federal income tax rate for this income group, which is significantly lower than the rates paid by higher-income earners

Among European OECD countries, the average statutory top personal income tax rate lies at 42.8 percent in 2025. Denmark (55.9 percent), France (55.4 percent), and Austria (55 percent) have the highest top rates.

The average standard VAT rate in Europe is 21.8 percent.

And not everything is covered as 20-30% of the people have to purchase private insurance.

And of course there is the wait time

Pan-European evidence suggests that the average time across the EU27 between a new cancer treatment receiving regulatory approval and it being made available in a country for patient access is continuing to grow, currently standing at a 559 day delay

Assuming the patient is still alive by then

Stupid Tom knows his point is weak when he quotes TOP tax rates in Europe rather than AVERAGE.

And of course, income taxes are not the only taxes people here pay.

Stupid Tom.

A person who has to buy their own health insurance is worse off financially than a person who enjoys government-provided free health care and pays taxes. America's health insurance providers are Trump-level rapists.

A child could figure out that our health care costs are higher than Europe's, because we have to pay not only the actual cost but corporate profits as well.
