The Turd invasion is over

The Orange Pig just announced that his deployment of Trumpstapo thugs to Portland, Chicago, and Los Angeles is over. He didn't give a reason, but then, he never has a reason for anything he does. It was probably triggered by something he saw on Fox Nooze at four in the morning.

There are still other cities where his goons remain parked, looking for brown people to beat up, but chances are, he's going to withdraw from them as well. He probably forgot about those other cities when he made his announcement.

Anybody wanna guess how much money all those months--long illegal fascist invasions cost the taxpayers? MAGA fiscal conservatives should be so proud!!!

So, in this case, part of the checks and balances system (SCOTUS) that you often bemoan specifically worked in your favor based on a Civil War era law. You should eat some popcorn and sing a tune...don't choke.

SCOTUS is nothing but a Trump appendage now. If they give him the occasional "tsk, tsk," that's just an attempt to imply that they're their own boss. Consider the sheer number of unconstitutional and extrajudicial Trump actions they've happily approved. Their occasional gesture of defiance is just window dressing.

Oh, and I don't believe for a second that the Turd won't come up with some way to circumvent the ruling and resume his invasions. He knows that cases take months to reach SCOTUS. In the meantime, he can order his thugs to burn those cities to the ground and kill millions of brown people. His goal all along. Then if and when SCOTUS slaps him on the wrist (again), he can say "Oopsy, my bad" and send his goons to invade Venezuela, or something.

He belongs in federal prison for literally hundreds of reasons. A temporary finger-wagging from SCOTUS isn't any more of a check and balance, or penalty, than a $1 parking ticket would be for you or me.

Thus, my happiness is not because the law has saved us--it hasn't--but because the Turd's mind is clearly on other issues, or has disintegrated altogether. We in Oregon would love for him to die, but failing that, to just piss off. Go blow up some more fishing boats and rape more teenagers.
