The Turd vs. the environment

The Fucking Turd just 1) canceled federal protections for endangered species 2) appointed a climate change denier to oversee the government's policies on...climate change.

I can understand how an obscenely rich, always pampered, hyper-urban fucktard may not give two shits about protecting the environment. After all, HE'S not going to suffer, no matter what. And Big Oil has been paying MAGA billions to barf out the mantra that climate change is a liberal hoax.

The list of things that Trump is destroying continues to grow.

Just spoke with a buddy that is an environmental consultant that does biological studies, environmental planning and regulatory permitting and he says this won't have a big impact on California, since the state has more stringent regulations than the federal government when it comes to wildlife and endangered species.

Just another way that Trump is trying to get rid of more regulations.  A shitty move, but not one that wasn't unexpected by Trump and his Admin. 

The good news is most of the damage he's done can be undone by a future president.    Ironically his legacy of ruining the country won't be from his legislation, executive orders, know nothing cabinet or relationships abroad.....as abhorrent as those are.  

 His worst lasting damage comes from his Supreme Court picks who really don't make much effort to hide their right wing activism.     democrats better win the Senate or Trump might get to replace Alito and Thomas with younger MAGA zealots.    If that happens kiss the judicial branch goodbye for 30 years.

Yeah, any animals that live in places like Arkie-saw are likely doomed, but they were going to be roadkill anyway. Federal environmental protection laws were always meant to cover situations where states couldn't or wouldn't take care of their lands. As you say, they were never all that consequential in California.

However, there's one shitty aspect. California has multiple national parks, as well as millions of acres of national forest lands, and all that is under federal jurisdiction. So the national parks, which were supposed to be shelters for endangered species, like eagles, condors, bears, trout, etc. are now without restrictions; people can happily tote guns in there and blow away anything they see.

There is no sane reason for this move, other than the MAGA mania of "fewer government regulations." There are myriad situations where stringent government regulation is a good thing. Environmental protection is one such situation. The MAGA mania reminds me of Elon's slash-and-burn joyride with his buddy, Big Balls.
