Turning bluuuuuue...la de da...

There are states that were, not so long ago, considered dead-red--to the point that no one ever thought they would be competitive. And then...

Arizona

Georgia

Nevada

Colorado

New Mexico

Even a lilttle bit o' Nebraska

We've won everywhere, man

We've won everywhere

(apologies to Johnny Cash)

And the reason is...

Republishit appeals only to nasty old white men who are full of hate. Their kind is slowly dying off. But aside from that, the RepubliQ has gone all-in on a traitorous rapist cult leader. Many folks who would otherwise happily vote RepubliQ didn't and won't vote for the Orange Turd.

Biden is unpopular enough that, say, Nikki Haley, or any other candidates that didn't babble and shit themselves, would probably crush him. But the Republidiots are going with the Turd a third consecutive time!

Thanks, RepubliQ MAGA morons!

I think we have a shot at Florida this time assuming the abortion rights referendum gets put on the ballot.

The plane crash that is Ron DeSantis might have an effect as well. I doubt that EVERYBODY in Florida has been swayed by his "woke woke woke woke woke" dog crap. I made a bet with myself that I would watch him speak ten times, and in no instance would he go 100 words without saying "woke"--usually in some meaningless fashion. It turned out to not be even close--he never went fifty words.

Other things, too--the abortion issue resonates even there, as the state isn't all old people and evangelical Christians. There are folks there who can now actually afford insulin and don't have to choose between paying for that and paying the light bill. And guess where a lot of that filthy Biden infrastructure money went? To keep Florida's coastal cities from getting clobbered by the next hurricane.

Oh yeah, and the anti-Disney idiot crusade didn't sit well with a lot of people, considering how many make their livelihoods from working in their theme parks or in businesses nearby. And that crusade was absolutely pointless.

New Mexico has been a blue state ( Democratically controlled) for almost a century ( since 1930). So, if the inference was a recent change from R to D within NM, I can't agree.

Yes, not all that recent overall, but the blueifying in NM has been at the state level in recent years, as only recently have Hispanic and Native communities had any voice

In Presidential and Congressional contests, the Democratic margins have been larger than before
