U.S. cruises toward record-breaking debt on Trump's watch

Many do WANT TO WORK and many more just want the government freebies thrown upon them. Can you not understand, their is a RIGHT and WRONG way to enter this country. Not sure why you struggle so hard with this?

As discussed in the other thread.  Trump is not allowing them to step across the border at the ports of entry to declare asylum and begin the process to enter the country the right way.  Will you condemn Trump for not following U.S. immigration law?

IF YOU CROSS THE NORTH KOREAN BORDER
ILLEGALLY YOU GET 12 YEARS HARD LABOR.

IF YOU CROSS THE IRANIAN BORDER
ILLEGALLY YOU ARE DETAINED INDEFINITELY.

IF YOU CROSS THE AFGHAN BORDER
ILLEGALLY, YOU GET SHOT.

IF YOU CROSS THE SAUDI ARABIAN BORDER
ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE JAILED.

IF YOU CROSS THE CHINESE BORDER
ILLEGALLY YOU MAY NEVER BE HEARD FROM AGAIN.

IF YOU CROSS THE VENEZUELAN BORDER
ILLEGALLY YOU WILL BE BRANDED A SPY AND YOUR FATE WILL BE SEALED.

IF YOU CROSS THE CUBAN BORDER ILLEGALLY
YOU WILL BE THROWN INTO POLITICAL PRISON TO ROT.

IF YOU CROSS THE U.S. BORDER ILLEGALLY YOU GET ……. !!!
A JOB, A DRIVERS LICENSE,
SOCIAL SECURITY CARD, WELFARE,
FOOD STAMPS, CREDIT CARDS,
SUBSIDIZED RENT OR A LOAN TO BUY A HOUSE,
FREE EDUCATION, FREE HEALTH CARE,
A LOBBYIST IN WASHINGTON
BILLIONS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF PUBLIC DOCUMENTS PRINTED IN YOUR LANGUAGE
THE RIGHT TO CARRY YOUR COUNTRY'S FLAG WHILE YOU
PROTEST THAT YOU DON'T GET ENOUGH RESPECT
AND, IN MANY INSTANCES, YOU CAN VOTE.

This was posted by Jeff Foxworthy. I have pasted it here for those who mouth off about the plight of illegals entering the U.S.

Gosh, another conservative that thinks the U.S. needs to be more like North Korea, Iran, Afganistan, Saudi Arabia and China who would have thunk?  ;)

Gosh another liberal that thinks (now that is an oxymoron) that illegal entry into the U. S. is OK. Send this one the bill for the expenses incurred for their upkeep - then I want to hear his response.

It is a civil infraction or a misdemeanor at worst so it should be taken about as seriously as a traffic ticket.

...and release them on the Mexico side of the border.

Less than a year after passage it is now clear that:

- the tax cuts do not pay for themselves (shocker)

- workers did not get the 4000 raise promised

- republicans are now actively working to cut all of the retirement programs Trump promised he would not touch in an effort to reconcile their welfare check for billionaires

In summary, the average middle class worker is getting an extra $20 on their paycheck in exchange for killing their traditional retirement benefits.  Good luck on in the midterms

"A Republican proposal to amend the U.S. Constitution to require a balanced federal budget failed in the House on Thursday [12 April 2018] when it fell short of the required two-thirds vote.

The vote was 233-184. Speaker Paul Ryan and his leadership team brought the proposal to the floor despite its long odds following pressure from fiscal conservatives after Congress passed a $1.3 trillion spending bill last month.

Seven Democrats joined 226 Republicans in backing the amendment, while six Republicans and 178 Democrats voted no."

Another opportunity missed !

I’m not sure what good a balanced budget amendment is if you are allowed to use dynamic scoring to forecast your budget.

maybe a better amendment should be a requirement for us congressmen to pass an elementary school arithmetic test before scoring the legislation they sponcer

But the good news is all the budget-busting Congressmen who voted for the dynamically scored tax cuts will get to cast themselves as fiscal hawks in the next election by pointing to the ammendment referenced by DonDiego.    It might work too!

Perhaps that could be added as a sub-section to the Balanced Budget Amendment.
