Boiler said, It's interesting that none of the Libs on this site called for Trump to act earlier. I read that many Libs complained when Trump limited flights to 7 countries several weeks ago.
I recall posting a month ago and complaining about how Trump was saying the coming warm weather means the virus wasn't going to be a problem in the U.S. Also, it has only recently come to light the degree of incompetence Trump has shown in handling the mess.
1. Not having test kits available when you had a two-month warning this was coming is inexcusable. I don't care who the President is. This was incompetence at the highest level.
2. At the last minute overruling the CDC and putting infected people on that evacuation plane with healthy people because some Republican Congressman had a buddy who was stuck in Japan was incompetence and malfeasance at the highest level.
3. Greeting those infected people with government employees that had no training in infectious diseases and dressed in street clothing was incompetence at the highest level. Firing the person that reported this was malfeasance at the highest level.
4. Gagging the officials at the CDC and filtering all Medical advice through Mike Pence who looks at it through the lens of are disclosing these medical facts harmful to Donald Trump politically is incompetence and malfeasance at the highest level.
5. Appointing a guy that doesn't believe in science, thinks smoking isn't harmful to your health, has no medical training, and the only health crisis he oversaw resulted in hundreds of people being infected unnecessarily with HIV is incompetence at the highest level.
6. Firing the pandemic response team in 2018 because you needed funds to pay for tax cuts for the rich and build a wall was incompetence at the highest level. (Liberals complained a lot about this at the time.)
7. Going on TV and demonstrating ignorance of what is going on by saying things like, I didn't know before a few hours ago that the flu killed people and then claiming at the same time the flu has a higher fatality rate than the Coronavirus virus was incompetence at the highest level.
8. Saying and tweeting every day that the Coronavirus is a hoax because you believe it is a hoax and that the only victim is you demonstrate the President is mentally unstable. Trump is having a psychosis in plain sight.
Trump's incompetence and mental health issues are going to get a lot of people killed.
I said before, Trump will have blood on his hands---as he already has from the many, many evil and stupid things he's done.
Yet, our Trumpers will continue to cheer him--even if one or more of those deaths are of their friends or loved ones. In their warped minds, Trump can do no wrong.
A competent leader, one who is a good man, would be doing more about this crisis than tweeting about how Democrats are using the coronavirus to persecute him. He would be concerned for the people he was elected to serve and would be investigating and implementing all possible preventive measures. But Trump is neither good nor competent.
I'll mention again, just because I want to, that Trump's 2021 budget contains a one-third cut to funds allocated specifically to fight pandemics.
