I fail to see how defense contracts can be equated with, say, food stamps or Medicaid.
I know they're touted as federal largesse bestowed on a state/district in return for a local politician's loyalty/clout. You know that Congressman Bedfellow has brought home the bacon for your town when the Feds decide to built the anti personnel widget factory there.
But it's not outright payments, like most of the stuff that net-loss Trumper states (full of net losers) receive.
