He went to an expensive private school plus an Ivy League school. He didn't appear to have a job, lived in Hawaii (one of the most expensive states to live in) and travelled a lot.
There is money there not buying the couldn't afford insurance story.

It is not a matter of buying insurance, it is a matter of getting the insurance you paid for to approve your treatment. United has the highest claims denial rate out of all major insurers.
