Only 16% of AMericans now smoke - which is near a record low. COVID boosted it back up slightly.
People who dont smoke generally dont like to be around people who do. Seems like the casinos are accomodating the majority. I'd be interested to see the percentage of gamblers who smoke. I suspect its somewhat higher. Vices have a way coupling up.
My father quit smoking around age 65 and almost immediately became a slot machine junky. Better than meth, I guess.

I concur--when I'm in a casino, it seems like at least a third of my fellow patrons smoke.
Casinos prey on weakness, and smokers, like drinkers, like gamblers, are weak. The ideal casino customer is a nimrod pounding away at the "penny" slots with a drink next to him, holding a stink-stick.
Real-life trials as well as market research have shown that smoking bans would actually increase, not decrease, casino profits. But the casinos are generally run by reactionary old farts. They're not big on change, except when they gratuitously make things worse.
Yep. Some are talking about going smoke free. While I smoke, I support their right to make decisions that I don't like. Libs only support private company decisions that fit their interests.
And Cons support company decisions that don't fit their interests? Stop babbling.
