No, traditionally tariffs are narrowly targeted to protect a domestic industry that is producing a similar product.
Trump wants to make a blanket tariff on everything regardless if there is a domestic manufacturer of a similar product. You can call it what you want but it works just like a national sales tax with the tariff paid by the consumers at the POS.
In your mind why does Trump continue to lie about foreign countries paying the tariffs when it is the consumers that pay them?
Inflation is a big issue this election shouldn't people know that Trump's plan is going to lead to more inflation?
