Venetian and Palazzo sold

$6.25 billion.  I wish that some swashbuckler had bought the joint, but it's what you might expect.  Apollo Global Mgmt is just another private equity company.

It should be noted that Kevin didn't appear to believe that it was going to sell near the $6 billion that I mentioned a month back.  Kevin claimed that he offered $20 and a ball cap for the properties, if I recall correctly, and next suggested that they just might accept his offer.  Apparantly Kevin's offer was $6,249,999,980 short.............give or take a ball cap.

I'm more of an old style Vegas guy...........much like PJ.  That being said, I do find Kevin's hatred interesting, a very passionate hatred mind you, of any casino which is too expensive for his tastes.

Yay! Yet another reason not to go to Vegas. Private equity group buys the place tightens everything and quits doing upkeep and maintenance. Five years later the place is a shit hole and goes tits up.

Boiler apparently has nothing better to do then sit in his basement and jerk off to Tucker Carlson and attack me. Oh well, at least I'm keeping a dangerous lunatic Trumptard off the streets.

Boiler once again lies about what I said and what I think. The Venetian and Palazzo are ridiculously overpriced and suck money from visitors like vampires. Their business model stinks. As Mark points out, the owners will milk the place dry.

But I imagine they're ideal Boiler destinations, because he likes to brag about having big macho-man gatherings in Vegas with his beer-swilling buddies and dumping huge piles of dough. These properties can easily accomodate Boiler's ardent desire to spend lots and lots and lots of money! Validates his boyhood. I find Boiler's very passionate love of ripoff casinos interesting.

Vegas sucks right now precisely because Boiler and his ilk continue to patronize casinos that gouge their customers.

With regards to Kevin's hatred of joints that are too expensive for your tastes, thank you for supporting my opinion with your hateful comments above.

My Vegas hotel tastes are much more suited to the Downtown than the Venetian.  We've stayed at the Venetian twice over the past 5 years because my friend, "Mongo", is buddies with the Venetian/Palazzo president, George Markantonis.  Mongo owns a Houston insurnace agency, and he was Markantonis' insurance agent for many years when George lived in Texas.  They've been friends every since and Markantonis gives us a good deal.

The place we've stayed more than any other is the luxurious Casino Royale.  There are two reasons that we no longer stay at the Royale, however.  They no longer offer black jack, and their only suites are too small to fit our group.  After the Casino Royale, Golden Nugget has been our most frequent place to stay with about 10 visits the past 20 years.  We've also done Red Rock, The Sands, The Stardust, Imperial Palace, The Flamingo, the Linq, The Riviera, The Mirage, Holiday Casino (now Harrah's), Harrah's, The Luxor, Rio Suites, The Ogden, The D, and Bill's Gamblin' Hall.  This year we're staying at The Golden Gate, which is a first for us.  We've gambled there often over the past 15 years, and I'm looking to do one of their two Penthouse suites, along with a series of Golden Gate Suites................and possibly a few standard doubles for those who freak out about sharing a King bed with another dude.  Does anyone know if the couch in the Golden Gate Suites pulls out into a bed?

Now I'm hoping that Kevin will explain what I lied about.  He often says such things, yet with no explaination or proof of a lie.

With regards to Kevin's hatred of joints that are too expensive for his tastes, I want to thank Kevin for supporting my opinion with his hateful comments above.  Kevin says that the Venetian/Palazzo business model sucks, but it appears to have worked out quite well for the owner, who just died with a net worth of $30 billion.  Is it possible that Adelson's business model sucks for you, Kevin, and that pisses you off.

Kevin is partially correct about our group being "swillers".  However, most of us don't swill beer as Kevin sugggests.  We instead prefer booze.  If drinking a bit too much, watching football in the "Big Room", and playing too much black jack makes one macho, then we are are a very macho group.  Thank you.

Now I'm hoping that Kevin will explain what I lied about.  He often says such things, yet with no explaination or proof of a lie.

Boiler lies every time he writes "Kevin says...": or "Kevin thinks.." He loves straw man arguments, which are only used by the intellectually crippled.

It's suckers like Boiler that keep the hyper-expensive ripoff joints alive. They should profusely thank him. I don't know what goes on inside those suites that his gang loves to rent, and I don't want to. Hopefully, in these days of contagion, it doesn't involve too much tongue-kissing.

If Kevin would like me to cut and paste his claim that he offered to buy the Venetian/Palazzo for $20 and a ball cap...........and that might accept his offer, I will.  What do you think Kevin?

Regarding our hyper-expensive ripoff deal this year, I just confimed that The Golden Gate suites do have a pull out couch plus a king bed.  I'll be putting three guys in these junior suites.  The penthouse has two bedrooms, each with a king bed.  We'll put four guys in that suite.

We split the cost of the accomodations across all 15 of us, and it'll be running us the crazy sum of just under $300 per guy for the three nights including taxes and fees.  Since the suite is large and gorgeous, we will have a kick-off party on night one.  We'll watch two football games Sunday morning/afternoon.  Other than that, guys just show up to hang out and have a cocktail.  When we have 15 guys, we can make our own fun.  Our buddy Fish mules in a shitload of booze, beer, mixers, pop, water, munchies, plates, etc..

Since our patio has a nice grill, we're going to fire up steaks one night.  I think I'm going to splurge and buy prime aged beef from the Butcher Block, baked potatoes and then I'll just grab some bagged salads.  While the suite is expensive, it save us money on drinking elsewhere.

Since we're old dudes, all of us will have our second vaccine within a month or two.  I get my second Pfizer shot on March 24.

That's pretty much what happens in our suite over our Vegas weekend.
