We now know how many Americans Biden left in Afghanistan

As many as 9,000 American citizens were left in Afghanistan when the U.S. military withdrew from the country Aug. 31, according to a report released Thursday by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. In public statements, Biden administration officials, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken, claimed that only 100-150 Americans remained in Afghanistan and had contacted the U.S. government with a desire to leave. The State Department and Defense Department officials stuck to that number, even as the government publicly admitted that large numbers of American citizens were still leaving the country. The report, signed by Foreign Relations ranking member Jim Risch of Idaho, reveals that State Department officials believed that between 10,000 and 15,000 Americans were in Afghanistan as late as Aug. 17. In the next two weeks, only 6,000 Americans were able to escape the country ahead of the Taliban takeover. In testimony in front of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, however, Blinken claimed that “approximately 100-150 remained in Afghanistan who still wished to depart.”

Ooooh, bolded words! That makes everything you say so much more manly!

I'd point out the childish logical errors of what you're trying (and failing) to say, but why bother?

Apparently the facts upset Lewis - more to come.

David, Kevin never addresss the facts. He just changes the subject and attacks. Facts are irrelavant when it comes to Bidens dementia and failed policies.

On February 29, 2020, President Trump agreed to our surrender in Afghanistan. At that point, all remaining US citizens knew that we were removing all US involvement. Folks who were prudent got out.

The people criticizing Biden are the same ones who supported our idiot invasion in the first place. That should tell you everything.

Well let us pray that Biden does not get us entangled in the Ukraine! Russia, China, North Korea and Iran have NO fear of our current leader! They are going to push us as far as possible and see if they find the right time and place for conflict. Our country is more divided at this point of time than at any time in my life.

God bless our country and lead us thru these troubled times.

The Ukraine is an ally, and even agreed to give up their nuclear weapons after the fall of the Soviet Union in return for our protection.

But thank you for your thoughts comrade.

On Feb. 29, 2020, Pompeo signed the peace agreement with Taliban leaders. The White House said the administration would be “watching the Taliban closely to ensure compliance,” and Trump said he would send troops back into Afghanistan if the agreement was broken.

First, the Taliban agreed to conduct negotiations with the Afghan government for establishing a peaceful government, according to the text of the agreement. Second, all sides agreed to a ceasefire to allow negotiations to take place, as part of the deal. Over the last several months, the Taliban has swept through Afghan provinces, violently claiming the territory. Taliban fighters invaded the capital city of Kabul in August and forcefully laid claim to the presidential palace without participating in any negotiations. After the key takeovers, Biden doubled down on the withdrawal plan

The Biden administration, which repeatedly said its hands were tied because of the Trump deal, ultimately forged ahead with the withdrawal despite these violations.

Biden has overturned every deal & exec order of President Trump, but chose to keep this one & then blamed President Trump after screwing it up.

One of the worst was abandoning the fortified & defensible Bagram air base in the middle of the night without telling anybody & going to the undefended kabul airport.
