Yes, personally, I ALWAYS, when I want to get my laptop fixed, fly cross-country and leave it at the shop of a blind computer repairman. I do that because a relative lives in the area.
I also drive 3,000 miles to get my car tuned up because my saintly grandmother lives in Florida. I usually leave it there and come back for it several months later.
