What does it mean?

Every doctor's office visit, they take our temp and ask COVID-19 related questions.

One common question is "Have you traveled out of the state in the last month?  (Or week, or whatever).

Formerly it was "Have you traveled out of the country..."  Now it is state.

So, what does it mean if your answer is yes?   You recent returned from another state, as in Nevada.

Does it mean you must quarantine for 14 days?  Do they turn you away, cancel your appointment?

I know NY and NJ and Connecticut were requiring anyone coming in (flying? driving?) from certain other states who have had big spikes to quarantine 14 days.   Because those three were seeing their numbers improve, and the certain other named states were having big spikes.

Now almost every state (including Nevada) is having big spikes in cases (no surprise after two holidays).

If I fly home from, say, Nevada, and I visit a doctor's office and say yes to the "out of state" question, will they turn me away?  Will I be told to quarantine for 14 days?  Fill out the quarantine papers and be tracked for compliance?

We have an appt. Friday.  I'm going to ask what that question means if the answer is yes.  But does anyone know?  Have you had to quarantine after traveling even if not having symptoms or been tested?

Thanks.

I had an appointment yesterday and I said I had traveled to Northern California. They said come on in.

If I had said I had come from criminally mismanaged states like Florida, Texas, or Arizona, I assume they would have had a different answer.

California reported almost 9,000 cases yesterday, the highest in the country.

In Ny you re supposed to quarintine for 14 days except when cuomo changes the rules.  For example last week he went to Georgia, but said he didn't have to quarintine himself.  His brother was supposed to be in quarintine a while ago, but was photographed in public.

Baseball teams playing in NY are also exempt.  He has even gone so far as to invite MLB to play as many games as possible in the state.

The reason why there's such a patchwork of procedures and regulations is that there hasn't been any national guidance, after all this time. Trump's criminal absence of leadership has forced every state to come up with its own quarantine guidelines.

Do the math. Each state has to come up with individual ways to deal with all 49 other states--and has to rely on fragmented database information to make those decisions. 2,450 separate decisions.

No wonder our country has proved to be the most incompetent in the world in dealing with CoVid-19.

Yeah, that's why I said Northern California. The San Franciso area was super-early when it came to shutting down, and they didn't destroy lives and livelihoods by reopening bars and restaurants like much of the rest of the state.

Oh, and the positivity rate in New York is around 1%. In Florida 20%. Some leaders just believe in science I guess.

Almost 50,000 deaths in the tri state area & until last week NY was #1 in cases.

And it looks like San Fran is having problems like the rest of CA.

From 7/23; Dr. Grant Colfax, San Francisco’s director of public health, said it was a “critical time for all of us” amid a surge that has increased hospitalizations and the average number of daily cases to new highs in the city. Still, the city remains better positioned than others in California and well shy of the crisis in New York City.

SFO is not even close to LA in terms of cases, hospitalizations, and deaths--on a per capita basis. That's because the Bay Area went into lockdown much more quickly than almost anywhere else in the country.

Y'know, responsible liberal leaders that don't listen to Trump.
