Thought experiment: what would happen if every state gerrymandered its districts to the ultimate extreme: one district.
only for the minority party? Or no districts?
Conversely, what if every state sent representatives to the House in proportion to populations of registered voters in each party? For instance, a state has 10 seats and Republicans are 60% of the electorate. The state sends 6 Republipigs and 4 Democrats.
The way it is now, it would be 10-0 Republipig.
Stupid Tom yeeped about Massachusetts being 9-0 Democrat. Strangely, he didn't make a sound about the dozens of red states where Republicans have far more House seats than they should, based on proportion. He's cool with Texas deliberately blotting out five Democrat seats. Why? Because it's his cult that's doing it.
Anyway, enough about stupid fascist Tom. My question is: if every state gerrymandered to the point where the minority party had one or zero seats, which party would have the majority? What if the minority party got ONE seat?
As total House representation is partially based on population, and registered Democrats outnumber registered Republicans, I suspect that Democrats would hold a majority of seats. Have you seen any calculations done about this?
