Boilerman desperately wants to believe Democrats are as sleazy as Republicans - thats why he makes up stories about gerrymandering and Joe Biden taking bribes.  It makes it easier to accept non-made up stories of Republicans doing the same.

 I guess it helps him sleep better at night

It's called cognitive dissonance:

1. I support MAGA. I'm a wonderful guy.

2. MAGA does evil things.

BWANNNK! Those two things can't both be true! Therefore, I MUST alter reality somehow!
