You might as well get over it now. The econmic system isn't going back to what it was before.
All that will happen is more people will die if they reopen the country and we will have to start all over from scratch with closing down things. There isn't even a testing and contact tracing infrastructure set-up to reopen the country. Focus on that first. Because of Trump's incompetence, we still don't have that.
I believe its a false choice.
But the disturbing thing is our president answers that question differently depending on his audience. He's actively cheering anti-shutdown protestors at the same time his CDC is issuing the guidelines to keep things shut down.

Well, we know what the people want--but hell, we also know that 70% want universal health care, three million more wanted Hillary, etc. etc. The will of the people is subverted and/or ignored by Republicans.

I notice that none of our Trumpers had the balls to answer the question--the weaseling I expected from them. We do know that Boilerman would be willing to sacrifice a million people for the sake of the economy.
Trumper insults and stupidity aside, I think that some of them fully realize that this "open up the country" stuff is dangerous and stupid, but don't have the guts to come right out and say that their orange god is wrong.
