Where did Tom, Boiler and David go?

Sunday afternoon is a pretty dead time in Laughlin. I would be curious as to how busy they were Saturday night.

If there were several of you, and they had dealers, they should have opened a table for you. In the good old days, that would have been done quickly and gladly.

Understandable.  We're usually out of town by 10am on Sundays, so wouldn't know the number they have open then.  We usually go when they have concerts and such happening across the street or the Edgewater Pavilion, to take advantage of the free rooms and tickets.  On a Friday or Saturday during these events there are at least 4 or 5 BJ tables, packed....and nothing less than $25 min.

It was not busy on Saturday night.  We had trouble getting on tables then also.

Another minor issue that we had was getting a taxi or an Uber/Lyft.  Usually 30 minutes, but no big deal for us.

Were you going into Bullhead, casinos down the way and across the street, or the airport?

Were the water taxis running?  Not sure how many they have, if at all, but we usually just pay 5 bucks a person and a couple bucks tip and go from the Riverside to Harrahs.   Beats waiting for an Uber.

We used to go bombing down to Laughlin every week or so and clobber all the promos and such. We sometimes stayed overnight (<$20) and sometimes didn't. Everything was so cheap cheap cheap and sooooooo easy to beat. And the joint was jumping, all the time!

But now...I was in Laughlin for a couple of days in November and I couldn't shake the impression that the whole place was dying. None of the casinos were even remotely busy. It all looked like a ghost town in progress. And the killer was that the food was expensive AND low-quality, and the hotels were charging Vegas prices.

For a long time Aquarius in Laughlin included a free breakfast with your night stay.  Not a continental breakfast, mind you.....they had a special menu for hotel guests at the diner.    two eggs, hash browns, bacon, toast and coffee.

not sure if that's still a thing or not

Not when I stayed there in November.

Their coffee shop does have a reasonable breakfast, but it ain't particularly cheap.

We were just heading up and down the hotel strip in Laughlin.  We did head to Bullhead City in our rental car one day, but the balance of our trip we were drinking and using Uber/Lyft/Taxi.  I only saw one water taxi, but we only spent 30 minutes along the river.  We were there when it was slighly cool and crazy windy.  Lot's of Vegas cancelled flights due to winds during this stretch.  I never saw a single person waiting at a dock for the water taxi.

I ended driving from Phoenix with a friend who was going to surprise me in Laughlin.  He decided to tell me the day before since all airlines where warning about Vegas flight cancellations due to the wind.  My friend flying into Vegas from Boise had his flight cancelled.  He ended up flying to Denver.  His next flight wasn't going to leave for 5 hours, but he noticed another Southwest flight that had been delayed six hours due to winds, and they were just boarding.  He jumped on that and finally arrived Laughlin about 9pm after the 90 minute drive from Vegas.  It was a long day for him after driving 2.5 hours in the snow from McCall, ID to Boise.

Good to see your friend was able to make it.  Yeah, totally understand that there were no water taxis buzzing around with the wind.  I wouldn't have been waiting around for one either.
