The White House offer to the Dems

The White House made an offer to the Dems to end the DHS shutdown.

The part that caught my attention is they are willing to adhere, "to existing law prohibiting the deportation or detention of U.S. citizens."

Zoinks! Are they saying that at this point they aren't adhering to existing law? Crazy

Yep, that's their offer they agree to follow existing law but still not all of them. Note their purposal doesn't mention judicial warrants which they are required to have. So to put it succinctly, they are willing to follow some laws, but not all as a condition of reopening the government.

Time to let it go.    Dems made their point.    The TSA lines are getting unbearable and they got the Ice Harpy out of office and a deescalation from the goon squad.

take the win and move on.

A judicial warrant cannot legally be used as a pretext to deport a foreign national.

But when did the fucking Turd ever have any respect or regard for the law? Take the partial victory and move on to kicking Trump's ass in other ways.

I disagree until ICE agrees to follow the law they shouldn't receive funding. The Democrats have offered to fund TSA as a stand alone so the Republicans can end that problem at any time.

I believe ICE is fully funded.   TSA is not.

ICE is kinda sorta fully fuund d, in that the Big Pig Bill allowed for their normal, intended operations as per their job title. However, their multiple murderous invasions of American cities cost hundreds of millions and were NOT funded.

ICE has already spent its entire 2026 budget.

According to AI, NPR  and several other sources ICE is fully funded through 2029. No it hasn't spent it's budget for this year. Do some googling.

Not exactly. Money from other agencies was stuffed into ICE's pockets by executive order, in order to finance all the raids and invasions and to meet the Turd's stated goal of 80 trillion deportations a week.

ICE can't possibly be funded for that long, because a new budget is proposed every year.
