Stupid Tom is an enabler, standing on the sidelines and cheering while Elon rapes us. And I don't need to contradict his ignorance regarding the Trump income tax rates.

Kevin can't contradict me because as usual he is lying.

I'll leave it up to those who frequent the Sink to decide how truthful stupid Tom is. Of course, our resident MAGAs might defend him, but to be a MAGA is to be a liar.
So you owe tax on the return you are saying?
"Withholding their returns" isn't much of a protest if you have a refund coming.
Most people pay in through each payroll so I'm completely baffled at the above. 63% of people have some type of refund when they file. So they are "protesting" by letting the Govt keep their refunds?!? Huh? Wouldn't a "seasoned tax preparer" know this?
Well, even for you, Jerry, that's a silly question. Obviously, I was referring to those who owe when they file, not those who are due a refund. I personally make sure I'm not over-withheld, so I neither owe nor am due any significant money back.
But let me school you a little. Taking your "stat" at face value (which I never due with stupid Tom, so consider yourself upgraded, from the very bottom, at least), those 37% who owe generally owe far more per capita than the ones who are due refunds. Those who earn a wage and calculate their withholding normally should neither owe nor be due very much--that's what the tables are for. So a return boycott by those who owe could have a substantial impact. That may include people who owe thousands--but wouldn't include those who are due significant sums.
I was, in any event, referring to a RETURN boycott--something that sailed right over the head of stupid Tom. I'm simply not going to file. I owe the federal government about the price of a Happy Meal, but denying them that swag isn't the point. The point is that I refuse to comply with them at all...but the return I'm not filing is for TAX YEAR 2024...during which Joe Biden, not Trump, was President. And I don't mind paying my pre-Trump taxes.
To make my point clear to even foggy-minded Tom: I've already paid my 2024 taxes. I paid them last year. The return I file merely verifies that. The change I've made is to my withholding. It's now EXEMPT. I'm not paying any 2025 taxes, or any subsequent year that the Turd or his lackeys are in office. But in my case as well, I'm not filing for TY 2024.
Others may have different approaches and different reasons, but don't mistake the groundswell of protest. The IRS has already reported a record number of unfiled returns--as measured by a drastic drop in the total number that were filed, year over year.

You have an IRS stat link to support your claimed drastic drop in the total number of filed returns?
I assume you intended to claim that the returns filed for tax year 2024 thus far were drastically less than that for 2023 at the same approximate date last year? The following doesn't show that relationship..shows the opposite.

Now, factor in the natural increase in the working/tax filing cohort from last year to this year. There should have been about a 1 percent increase in filers, year over year. Those stats look like that's what has happened so far.
So it appears that neither you nor I were correct as of that date. Let's see what the final tally looks like.
The real revolt will come when people file next year.

It remains to be seen how many more returns are not filed but that's not the correct statistic. Look and see how much delinquent tax revenue is recovered by the irs this year compared to previous years.
do you remember when liberals defunded the police ? Republicans just did the same thing.
my prediction: The money saved by firing irs agents will be negated 10x over by the resultinguncollected revenue ....and that's on top of the 600 billion in uncollected revenue we have already.
if republicans think the public is going to be ok with cutting entitlement programs while ignoring that low hanging fruit they are in for a rude awakening.
Kevin, what is your job? Failed business. Failed teacher...which is almost impossible. You don't have any skin in the tax game, so it's easy for you to claim that others should pay more.
