I'm a believer that a candidate has to be either a present or former governor to get my vote. I'd never vote for someone who only served in Congress. But I haven't voted for a major party presential candidate since 2000.

Gov Shapiro in Pa is probably my favorite (A) because he's good at governing and (B) because polling shows him beating any MAGA candidate.
Going forward both parties are in trouble in so far as they dont have anyone with rockstar status. Nobody in the Democrat party carries the charisma and leadership of Barack Obama and Bill Clinton....and nobody in the Republican party carries it like Donald Trump.
The best thing about MAGA is it lives and dies with DOnald Trump. Nobody else in that wing of the Republican party polls well....Vance, DeSantis, Don Jr, Abbott,Cotton.....which is weird to me. They're dicks just like Trump but for some reason MAGA actually thinks so too.
I've noticed that, too! MAGA LUVVVVS the Turd but for some reason, his lackeys, copycats, and underlings who try to be Trump Lite don't garner the same rabid affection. I mean, Vance is a jerkass in the Trump mold, but NO one likes him, even a little bit. All the other possible 2028 clowns are equally unpopular.
The Turd has undeniable charisma. It's also inexplicable. I walk through a crowd, accidentally touching what MUST be several people who voted for Trump, and I want to go home and sandblast myself. What kind of awful, degenerate subhuman being votes for that horrible man?
