Most employers in my area are still desperate for employees. A lot of restaurants close their dining rooms and just leave the drive through open. They also often close early because they don't have enough employees to staff the store.

My 21 year-old niece with a high school education started at a factory that pays her $26 an hour and has overtime available after her shift and every Saturday. She had her pick of several jobs.  She can hit 70k a year by avergaing 45 hours a week.

Anybody in my area that is able bodied and wants a job paying $20+ an hour can have it.

Which will raise food prices, even if somehow all those jobs are filled...right, Boilerboob?

It's a silly fantasy to think that American workers can be persuaded to do the strenuous and dirty jobs that migrants do in the US. Even if they ARE paid a couple of dollars more per hour.

While it's not the same thing you're talking about, I've gotten back into the substitute teaching game because the pay has increased by forty percent. And why are there so many openings? Because in the last few years, when teachers have retired, they haven't been replaced...because young professionals aren't joining the ranks any longer. They can cherry-pick better and higher-paying jobs.

As PJ notes, this is the first time ever when pretty much anyone with a pulse can make $20 an hour. In N Out Burger, down the street, has a huge sign up, "$22/HR TO START! ALL SHIFTS AVAILABLE!" When Biden took office, those jobs paid $11/hr.

My numbers regarding "employment participation" came from the FED, and just about everyone is reporting that 8 million illegals have been confirmed to have entered under Biden, but with got aways, it's closer to 10,000,000.  Where did you get your data?

You continually mix up unemployment rate and labor participation rate, so I'll let you get that straightened out in your head before I explain them to you.
