Who's responsible for the forest fires? You get one guess

Let's take at face value Trump's claim that poor forest management is the culprit for the fires raging in the West. Let's for a moment entertain the absurd notion that Republican-caused climate change has nothing whatsoever to do with it.

Trump has said that those in charge of the forests should "clean" them and there would be no more forest fires. Very well. Who's in charge of the forests that are burning right now?

60% of the fires in California are on National Forest land or BLM land. 75% of the fires in Oregon are on those lands. 90% of the fires in Washington state are on those lands. (The national parks have escaped damage, except a couple of very small areas.) Who administers those lands, including forest management and fire suppression and prevention? The Department of the Interior.

Who's the boss of the Department of the Interior? The Secretary of the Interior. Who's the Secretary's boss? Donald Trump.

So poor forest management is Trump's fault. The buck stops at his desk. Period.

The forest did not become what they are overnight-- 8 years of do nothing Obama set the stage. Give credit where credit is due.

Of course, you won't admit to Trump's culpability. Fires on HIS watch have been much more massive than those during any previous administration, even ones twice as long as his. Look up the number of acres burned per year pre-Trump and during the Trump presidency.
