Whatever flaws exist in Obamacare are the direct fault of the Republicans, who screamed and moaned and whined and bitched and griped against the original plan, which was government-supported single-psyer health care. At the time, the Dems had the 60 votes they needed in the Senate and could have told the Republicans to go pound sand (as the Republicans surely would have done had the situation been reversed), but one of those votes was Joe Manchin, and at the last minute, he expressed reservations. The Democrat leadership panicked. They cobbled together the present plan to appease the Republicans, who had been paid billions in bribes by the insurance companies to make sure they retained their dominant status in American health care.
And thus we have the present bastardized mess, which is still far better than anything the Turd and/or his lackeys could dream up.
