He made a very good living, and later, worked his passage during the Trump shitshow, pandering to the more educated MAGAs by writing anti-liberal screeds that appeared in conservitard media, such as a syndicated column.
He's undoubtedly a good writer--he wrote a terrific book about baseball.
But if he's implying that the Republican party isn't adhering to noble conservitive ideals and he's leaving it in a state of high dudgeon--I call bullshit. The RepubliQ are touting their brand based on ancient and holy conservitard tropes...white supremacy, "gummint am bad," and a fervent desire to hand all power to corporate America.
Will's too smart not to recognize this. I'm sure that he's leaving because he loathes Florida Man, Trump, Marjorie Bitch, etc. etc. etc. but doesn't want to say that out loud, because it would cost appearances for his newspaper columns, he wouldn't be invited to pontificate on Fox News, etc.--for no appreciable gain in return.
