First of all, I don't think most of the RepubliQ politicians who've sold their brand by pandering to the goobers are actually all that racist--and that includes Trump-Turd. They've figured out that babbling about CRT and TRILLYUNS O' ILLEGULS A'FLOODIN' 'CROSS DA BORDUR gets them votes and gins up all the bucktoothed hillbilles and gun-toting assholes.
But really, what's the source of or reason for all the irrational race hatred from the "base"? Is it simply because in places like the South, blacks are still considered second class citizens at best and subhuman at worst, and in the rural West and Plains states, there simply aren't enough nonwhites for them to be part of society?
I grew up near San Francisco, at a time when the City was one of a very few safe havens for gay people. I frequently visited SFO and later in life, lived and worked there. Gay folks were a very common sight, and I was quite used to them. In my tens of thousands of interactions with them, who they preferred to have sex with was never a consideration--just like it was with "straight" people. My gay friends, though, assured me that in other places, they were routinely discriminated against and quite often, in mortal danger.
I never understood that, or bigotry and racism in general. Aren't gay people...people? Aren't blacks, Hispanics, etc....people? Don't the founding documents of our country explicitly state that we are all equal?
What do you think it is? Hatred consumes energy. Why do all the goobers expend so much of it? Is it because they're failures, and demonizing others makes them feel better?
