Why Do Republicans Want High School History Classes To Lie Students

A lot of Republican-led states are passing gag order laws to schools forbidding them from talking about slavery, racism, lynching and anything other than an extremely "whitewashed" version of history. Their stated reason is they don't want white kids to feel guilty.

State-sponsored propaganda brought to you by the Republican party.

That's an extreme disservice to students, especially since so many of our governmental systems are still based on slavery (such as the electoral college and gerrymandering). They deserve to know why their mommies and daddies vote for politicians who are working tirelessly to stop black people from voting.

Republican hypocrisy is breathtaking. Remember the recernt kerfuffle about Confederate statues and flags? Remember how Republicans defended the continued worship of slaveholders and traitors because it's all part of history? Well, I guess that noble dedication to history only applies when it's stuff you want to see and hear.

I wonder how (or if) they'll teach kids about the Civil War. Maybe they'll say it was all about the price of tobacco or cotton. And if lynchings are accidentally mentioned, they'll hastily explain that black people lynched themselves and any assertions to the contrary are just fake news.

Red states are already chock full of brain-dead mouth-breathing conservitard bigots, and apparently, RepubliQ legislators want to make sure that fine tradition continues. Thank God I don't live in such a place!

This was the Tulsa Newspaper the day after the Greenwood Massacre a hundred  years ago that slaughtered over one hundred  black residents and sent over 600 to the hospital.  They had biased media then too
