Why do some people say, "drill, baby, drill"?

What if US oil companies decide drilling is bad for business? Will the government try and force them to drill?  Odd.

Oil Outlook: US Production Boom, Weak China Demand to Lead to Oversupply in 2025 - Markets Insider

"The oil market could see a major supply glut in 2025 thanks to booming production from non-OPEC states like the US and sagging demand in China, according to the International Energy Agency.

The IEA said in its November Oil Market Report that the world's oil market is on track for a one-million barrel-a-day surplus next year."

"The US has become the largest oil producer in the world, pumping out more crude than any other country in history for the last six years in a row, according to the US Energy Information Administration. Domestic production hit a record 13.4 million barrels a day in August, according to data from the Energy Information Administration."

I guess some people think it's still the 1970's.

Because they're idiots, baby, idiots.

The oil companies have always wanted to control supply and therefore prices. Trying to force them to open the spigot and create a supply glut will not sit well with them.

Don't worry, your globalist leadership had Biden empty the Strategic Oil Reserve so America is weakened in a time of scarcity or war, so Trump will refill it, assuming we aren't in a nuclear armageddon by your idiots in charge launching missiles into Russia.

We have the capacity to refill the entire reserve in 24 hours if we need to. Our actual reserve is the thousands of operational wells, which are producing more petroleum than at any time in American history.

The Biden Administration, in an attempt to hold down oil and gasoline prices, sold 180 million barrels from the reserve last year for an average of $96.25 per barrel. - For Politics

Nevertheless, the Energy Department appears to be maintaining the SPR at its lowest level since 1984.6 The reserve currently contains 372 million barrels—almost half as much as its all-time high of 727 million barrels in 2010.

Refilling the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve may take years, U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said this week, reversing plans the Biden administration announced late last year to repurchase at lower prices oil it sold from the reserve in 2022.

How much do you think we should have?

Hey Max.  I hope things are going well on the Front Range.  Good article here indicating that the Exxon CEO said the oil industry has no plans to ramp up drilling because of Donald Trump.  https://www.newsweek.com/exxon-mobil-ceo-wont-ramp-drilling-just-because-donald-trump-wants-1978817.   The industry really likes $65-$85 a barrel oil.  Helps maximize stockholder returns.  I'm all for increasing dividends.

The SPR is for emergencies, not for political hacks to use to lower prices in an election year as was done this year.
