Taking your candidate's achilles heel (Bush 43's military record) and falsely and presposterously accusing your opponent (John Kerry who went to 'Nam when he could have easily avoided service and became a bona fide war hero) of being even more culpable of the transgressions that your guy is actually guilty of.
The problem is: Swift-boating works. It sways low information voters who believe what they see in TV ads or what they hear on faux news.

I used to be more bothered by that than I am now, but I've come to realize that it's always been the case that as an alarming portion of the population is dumber than a box of rocks, a similar portion of the electorate will cast their votes for the stupidest of reasons. I mean, there was no earthly rational reason to vote for Trump, right? But 75 million morons did. So if it's not Hunter's mystical magical radioactive laptop, it'll be some other bullshit.
I've never been more in favor of requiring a passing grade on a high school-level civics test--and a high school diploma--as a prerequisite for being able to vote. "Low information" voters should be stripped of the privilege.
