I didn't see any reason to shoot the guy after watching the video and reading the article, but they guy sure is a prick and I hope that he gets voted out of office. I wouldn't vote for him.
The takeaway is that this guy, despite his belated apologies, is an obnoxious bigot and doesn't deserve to be elected town dogcatcher. However, many Republitards have witnessed his behavior and admire it. "He speaks his mind." "He's not PC." "He tells it like it is."
Remember when a certain orange asshole's crude and boorish behavior came to light and that increased his popularity? Same thing here. This incident will get him elected.
