The inescapable conclusion one has to draw from Trump's ongoing popularity with the 75 million goober shortbus crowd is that those qualities of his that stir up revulsion in most of us are powerfully attractive to them. Pathological liar? "He speaks his mind." Thief and crook? "He's stickin' it to The Man." Traitor? "He's making America great again." Et cetera!

I fear that the Democrats may suffer from complacency, just like they did in 2016. Hillary's campaign was botched, largely because they thought, "Well, we'll beat that clown no matter what we do." I'm worried that they may dismiss Biden's unpopularity in the same manner.

If the Democrats come up with ANY young-ish candidate to run instead of Biden, and that candidate runs against Trump, it'll be the proverbial landslide. But the Democratic party has shown an alarming willingness to shoot itself in the foot. Just because the RepubliQ is being so stupid as to put up the Orange Turd for the third time in a row doesn't mean that the Democrats have to do something stupid as well.

Trump and George W had similar econmic legacies.....they both inherited booming economies and left them in shambles by the time they left office.....and then their Democrat successor cleaned  up.

And in both instances the Republican voters (like Tom) complained how the Democrats didnt clean up the Republican mess fast enough.   It didnt really take hold either time - thats why they were left crying about golf,  birth certificates and old age.    

Its a neverending cycle.
