Back to the OP, gas is not $7.00 in LA right now, or for the most part in 2024. Mister meme strikes again.

In Colorado, I pay a lot less for gas near my house than I would in the mountain towns, or even the one casino-owned gas station on my way to Blackhawk, which charges $1.00 more per gallon than it is available 20 minutes away in Golden.  The casino offers player club discounts, but it's still higher than in the metro area. Aaah, memes are so informative for the cognitively challenged.

Makes me wonder, does MAGA just fill up wherever they are and think to themselves, "I wish I knew where to get gas for a lower price." Then, not glancing across the street and seeing a lower price? Sounds about right

But hey.  My point was why aren't you democrats embracing much higher gas prices instead of trying to weasel them away?  Either climate change is an existential threat that's going to kill us all or it isn't.  Put me in the low gas prices for prosperity category.

Well, angry stupid Charles, you're a MAGA fool, so maybe you don't recall the half dozen or so times in the last few decades when the fossil fuel companies grabbed America by the balls and squeezed.

For over 50 years, whether the average Joe can "prosper" has been largely determined by whether or not he had to dump half his paycheck into his gas tank. Every time the fossil fuel companies want to boost their shareholder value, they jack up their prices.

So low gas prices are just a ploy to discourage investment in EVs. They'll wait until the dumb American public is convinced that "gas is cheap." Then, they'll double the prices and choke off supply. Just like they did the last dozen times.

Their goal is to keep US dependent on them and their whims. They pay MAGA to keep railing against alternative energy and EVs. But you idiots here do that for free!

I'm a registered independent, I switched from a Republican in the early 2000s, when the party was only worried about god, guns, and gays. Three things I don't care about.

I'm all about an all of the above energy policy,  American energy independence is ultimately achieved through renewable energy, which provides a source of energy independent from foreign governments' influence. 

Climate change does exist, and I'm glad the US can innovate new technologies to move away from fossil fuels. I may be wrong, and if I am, the only harm is overinvestment in alternative energy sources. You may be wrong, I know MAGA finds that impossible to believe, and if you are, the damage could be irreversible.

I don't believe the only way to prosperity is based on using only fossil fuels.
